The Chanel Vintage Jumbo Flap bags have a distinct shape that largely differs from what we know the Jumbo flaps to be shaped today. The hardware only comes in gold hardware, there is no curve on the front flap and the shape is distinctly boxy. The front CC closure is also larger than the typical CC that we currently see today. The size also comes in a larger XL that is a bit wider.
The style comes in a few distinct materials typcially lambskin, patent and caviar. The quilt is usually the classic but will sometimes appear as Chevron (vertical lines) and also a flatter quilt.
Prices for a vintage flap are a lot lower, but be aware that it usually comes more lived in so the leather may be softened, have a slight odor (depends on the owner) and the hardware needing a good dry rub to shine it up again.
