For Fall/Winter 2014, Chanel and Moschino has created handbags inspired of food boxes that were both seen on their runway shows. Chanel has the Lait de Coco Minaudiere Bag inspired by milk carton bo. Moschino offers the Happy Meal Leather Shoulder Bag. Jeremy Scott has taken his inspiration obviously from McDonald's Happy Meal box. Check out the differences between these two unique bags.
Chanel Lait De Coco Minaudiere Bag
First seen on the Fall/Winter 2014 runway show, which has a grocery chic theme, the Lait de Coco Bag is one of the must have from this collection. The bag is shaped like a milk carton and made of metallic goatskin. The "Lait de Coco" inscription is embellished with diamante. It has a magnetic closure and the bag's interior is made of satin. The bag has the iconic woven chain and leather shoulder strap. A CC logo is stitched on the back side of the bag.
The Chanel Lait de Coco Bag measures at 7.9” H x 3.9” W x 3.9” D and retails for $4,800.00 (USD). There is a patent version which costs less at $3,300.00 (USD) and the python one is at $4,900.00 (USD).
Moschino Happy Meal Leather Shoulder Bag
The Moschino Happy Meal Leather Shoulder Bag could definitely be mistaken for a McDonald Happy Meal Box if not for the chain and leather shoulder strap. The bag is made of soft leather in red and yellow which the famous fast food chain is known for. The bag has the M shaped top handles. It has an embroidered face and the Moschino logo on each sides. The interior is made of logo jacquard lining.
The Moschino Happy Meal Bag measures at 8 ¾” H x 5” W x 5” W and is priced at $1,050.00 (USD), much less expensive than the Chanel Milk Carton Bags.
Conclusion:
Although the Moschino Happy Meal Bag is more economical and can fit more than the Chanel Lait de Coco Bag, Chanel still wins this round. The Chanel Milk Carton Bag colors are more classy and the bag itself is easier to take from day to night. However, if you are more edgy side and bold the Moschino Happy Meal Bag is more of a statement discussion piece. Which would you choose?
