Chanel Boy bags have increased in price in October 2014
Chanel is expected to raise bag prices starting for the second quarter of 2014 between April and June. This means if you were planning on purchasing a classic flap bag its time to plan earlier to buy. There's no immediate need to panic but it appears that prices are increasing for Chanel on their classic line-up, which will be ready in time for release of the Pre-fall 2014 collection. It's been about two years since the last increase, and this is likely due to higher labour/material costs with a stronger Euro currency and also to keep up with other increases from Louis Vuitton (Mar14), Hermes (Feb14) and Celine (Feb14).
UNITED STATES
The US prices are confirmed to increase on May 1, 2014. Here's a summary of the price increases expected to happen so far:

EUROPE
Only the classic bags were affected and all other runway bags styles remained the same. In Europe the price for the Classic Jumbo flap increased from 3,450€ to 3,950€ (15% increase). Chanel Boy bags also received an increase from 2,650€ to 2,850€ (7.5% increase).
[box type="shadow" ]Update: Prices have gone up in Paris on April 14, 2014 and the increase is around 15% which is higher than originally estimated. All prices are now updated on the Chanel Europe Bag Price List Guide. The Boy bags from previous seasons (ie. Act 1) showed increases, although whether or not the store has stock is unknown, YMMV.
